INTERTWINED PHENOMENA, PART I - 2022
Intertwined phenomena explores the future in which art is made. In the first chapeter of this research, woolen sculptures
will arise from a zero-waste standpoint. Materials are sourced locally and with the intention to give back to the community. Our first series explores the presence of these sculptures in the space and the possibilities that this idea fulfills.
Due to the lack of a production chain, almost all wool produced by Europes great scale of sheep species is burned every year. Combined with the folktales that are still relevant in the region today, we (Edo Verhoeff and Dewi Vingerling) are going highlight this European-wide problem in a series of recidencies, of which Haute-Savoie, France is our first stop.
PAS HALVERWGE - 2022
Theaterspektakel Pas Halverwege is een locatievoorstelling voor en door Maassluizers.
Het is een voorstelling waarin grote, historische verhalen worden vermengd met persoonlijke, hedendaagse anekdotes die allemaal één verbindende factor hebben: het water van de Nieuwe Waterweg, en in Maassluis ’t Scheur.
De Nieuwe Waterweg heeft gezorgd voor groei en voor verwoesting, met de kade als tribune van aankomst en afscheid van de schepen en haar bemanning. Laat je tijdens de voorstellingen verwonderen door theater, dans en muziek en beleef de verhalen van de inwoners van Maassluis en de Nieuwe Waterweg die over het water van Maassluis galmen.

HET KOUDE KIND - 2022
Het is 2001, we zijn in een trendy café, in een stad, op De Markt.
Henning, een perverse exhibitionist, heeft zijn plek gevonden in het vrouwentoilet en wacht daar al loerend op een doelwit. Lena, een studente Egyptologie, wordt aan een tafeltje gekweld door haar ouders, met praktische levensverwachtingen en een dreigende onterving. Ze vlucht het vrouwentoilet in. Aan een andere tafel wacht een jong stel met een stille kinderwagen op hun vriend: Johan. Hij, net gedumpt door zijn verloofde, redt Lena uit de benarde toiletsituatie, waarna haar gewillige puberzusje Tine het volgende slachtoffer lijkt te worden.
Wat volgt is een spel tussen nachtmerrie en overdreven werkelijkheid waarin mensen lachend worden mishandeld, knuffelend verwond, en slecht geheelde littekens worden doorgegeven aan de volgende
generaties. Marius von Mayenburg schreef een zwarte komedie over de vicieuze cirkel van misbruik, onderdrukking en de hardnekkige
verlangens achter de façade van de burgerlijke norm. In Het Koude Kind raken zowel slachtoffers als daders verstrikt in claustrofobische relaties en verdwijnt het verschil tussen hoe de werkelijkheid wordt ervaren en wat er daadwerkelijk gebeurt.

I'm sure it's not meant that way...
Frequently used phrases that are mainly intended to calm things down. To keep things in check. But what if you can't or if you choose not to? What if you do let the tempers run high, what if you don't hold back your emotions? If you are simply angry and everyone is allowed to know it. And perhaps that anger can also be a good thing? A force of nature that can move mountains, set tribes in motion, a catalyst for change. Through dance and spoken word, our young actors draw the audience into a battle that manifests itself as a socratic conversation, in which we search for the real meaning of all that we say and do.
Parra jr. is a laboratory for research into anger, power, justice and empathy. And how human perception relates to reality. Because what we hear and see is determined by who we are. And empathising with someone else turns out to be more difficult than you think. How do you establish that everything is not in fact an illusion?
Each year, in our ITA junior production, creators and young people are inspired by an ITA ensemble performance. This year, they take inspiration from Ivo van Hove's Age of Rage. Age of Rage tells a prehistoric story of how revenge haunts and destroys consecutive generations. Using the history of the Trojan War and the royal Atrid family, Age of Rage shows the mechanisms, inevitability and hopelessness of a circle of violence.
